Carli Bybel x BH Cosmetics Palette – Original VS. Deluxe Edition
If you’re a beauty obsessed lady or gent chances are you’ve heard of Carli Bybel. Carli is a popular beauty YouTuber who ranks up there with the best, such as Jaclyn Hill, Manny MUA, Jeffree Star, Laura Lee, etc.
Carli teamed up with BH Cosmetics back in 2015 to launch her very own eyeshadow palette, simply called the Carli Bybel palette. The palette includes 10 eyeshadows (both shimmers and mattes) and 4 highlighters. Because the palette is gorgeous, buttery/blendable, pigmented and affordable, it quickly became a hot commodity and sold out. I happened to be one of the lucky ones and got my hands on the palette right away.
Recently, Carli launched a brand new palette (once again with BH Cosmetics) called the Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition palette. The deluxe palette claims to be a bigger, better version of the original palette – including 11 upgraded shades from the original palette and 10 new ones (15 eyeshadow shades and 6 highlighters). It retails for $22.50 USD at bhcosmetics.com.
After having had some time to test both palettes, I have to say for the price point they are very good. The only real con I found is that they feel like two very different palettes. The original palette is much more cool toned, where as the new palette is much more warm toned. The matte colors in both can also be a bit patchy. Both palettes blend out pretty well, however, and have excellent pigmentation and staying powder. They’re not the most amazing palettes you’ll ever find, but for the amount of product you get for the price, and the overall blendability, it’s not a bad deal.
